I first went to the estuary and could see AndyW out in the channel struggling to get going, so I left a note on his car and headed around to the seafront. There was only just enough wind here. I cntemplated going kitesurfing, but the tide was coming in and there soon wouldn't be enough beach to land the kite on unaided, so I rigged my biggest windsurfing kit and gave that a go.

At first there wasn't enough wind and the current just tok me downwind and left me with a little walk of shame. The wind seemed to pick up a little as I was walking back, so I let off a bit of outhaul and gave it another go. This time I managed to get out through the surf and once out the back a few pumps got me on the plane. The wind continued to pick up a bit and I had a good hour nicely powered up out the back, jumping off the swell and riding the big (over head high) swells back in. The wind then went a little flukey and alshtough I was on the plane most of the time the odd lull when I came off the p;lane convinced me to give up for the day.

Quite a nice session while it lasted though.
